In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, Feutmba shared his insights on why Adams would be an invaluable addition to the Brazilians midfield. As Sundowns look to bolster their midfield arsenal, the acquisition of Adams is seen as a strategic move to enhance the team's versatility and adaptability to various playing styles.
"I personally think it's a good move for the team. If you look at him he is still young and is a Bafana Bafana player which means he will give other players in the team competition which is needed and it will also replace them in a good way when one is out injured or suspended. And, you know Sundowns play in almost every tournament and they need a big squad. From the way I have seen him play, I see that he will fit into Sundowns' style and philosophy. He is a versatile midfielder and you need a player like him at Sundowns to compliment the midfielders who are already there," Feutmba told the Siya crew.
Feutmba, a Cameroonian-born legend, also highlighted the potential benefits of such a move for Adams' personal development. Joining a team with Sundowns' pedigree, particularly one that consistently competes in the CAF Champions League, could significantly enhance Adams' experience and exposure on the African continent.
"You know every season Sundowns will be playing in the CAF Champions League and as a Bafana Bafana player it's good that he gains that experience of playing in Africa. It's good for his growth as a player and it won't just benefit Sundowns but also the national team. So, I think Adams' move to Sundowns will benefit many people as well," Feutmba concluded.
So, the expected transfer of Adams to Sundowns is viewed through a lens of optimism by former players like Roger Feutmba, who see Adams' versatility and youth as key assets that align with Sundowns' ambitions on both domestic and continental fronts. Such a move not only promises to strengthen Sundowns' squad depth but also offers Adams a platform for growth and an opportunity to contribute significantly to both his club and Bafana.
