South Africa’s league of old men that sadly still dominate the seats of power are set to lead us through a time of ever-increasing uncertainty and insecurity over the next couple of years, as the economy resets itself to whatever a post-Covid-19 world will be. And once we get over that hurdle, they’ll have to contend with an energy crisis, a 'junk' rated country that in any best-case scenario will last at least about seven years, and technological innovation that will limit labour absorption in the formal economy.
