This tiny pale blue dot is the only home we have in this universe, and we need to fight to prevent it all from going up in flames or turning into dust in the name of profit, writes Ahmed Areff

Just over 250 million years ago, when the earth had form, flourished, and light was upon the face of the deep, a few volcanos erupted, temperatures rose, and 95% of all life on the planet was wiped out. Scientists dubbed this the "great dying".

After that we had a meteor to thank for mucking up the atmosphere and getting rid of those pesky "terrible lizards".
