European stock markets climbed at the open Friday as investors awaited key US jobs data later in the day, looking for further signs of economic recovery.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index grew 0.5% to 7 107.93 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index jumped 0.9% to 15 336.82 points and the Paris CAC 40 added 0.4% to 6 379.04.
