TymeBank launches personal loans, eyes banking 1 million TFG customers by year-end

Patrice Motsepe-linked TymeBank has put 600 kiosks in The Foschini Group (TFG) stores across the country, signed up 250 000 customers in the process, and wants to ramp that up to at least 1 million before the end of the year.

The bank began stationing its kiosks at TFG stores in July last year and had already attained 100 000 customers through that channel by November, before it even completed its rollout.

"Today is actually our official launch. We haven't even marketed this proposition yet. It's just organic interest in the stores," said TymeBank co-founder and CEO, Coen Jonker during an interview with News24 on Wednesday.
