Cape Town – The Alternative Mining Indaba (AMI) – a grouping of church leaders, non-governmental orgnisations and civil society groupings – handed a memorandum to Mining Indaba MD Alex Grose on Wednesday.
In the memorandum the AMI set out its concerns about the mining sector and proposed a number of solutions.
Grose was joined by Tom Butler, CEO of the International Council on Metals and Mining, representatives from the Department of Mineral Resources and Tebello Chabana and Elize Strydom - both from the Chamber of Mines.
