Eskom has announced a high risk of Stage 1 load shedding on Tuesday from 16:00 to 23:00, but said it would only be implemented if "absolutely necessary".
The power utility earlier announced that there was a high risk, but did not indicate which stage or from when it might be implemented.
It said at the time that the power system was constrained.
The power utility called on customers to switch off all non-essential appliances to decrease pressure on the national grid.
The utility on Monday also warned of a high risk of power cuts, but these were not implemented.
