THEY looked "too hot" to keep.
The thugs stole the cars but decided to dump them. Police are now looking for thugs who stole these two cars and dumped them in Thembisa, Ekurhuleni.
The first recovered vehicle was a Gautrain bakkie. The marked white Isuzu bakkie was found dumped on the pavement in Maokeng section in Thembisa on Friday morning, 26 April. The bakkie had been parked on the pavement as if the driver wasn't far. But as the day progressed, residents became suspicious and contacted police.
Marie Mashishi, spokeswoman for EMPD said investigations revealed that the abandoned bakkie, which is a Light Delivery Vehicle (LDV), was from Gautrain premises in Midrand.
"The EMPD officers received information about the bakkie and investigations revealed it was stolen in the early hours of the morning," said Mashishi.

She said the South African Police Services (SAPS) fingerprints unit was summoned and the recovered Isuzu LDV was taken to Aeroton SAPS vehicle pound for safe keeping. The second car, a Nissan Micra, was found abandoned on Thursday, 25 April at 8.30am on DM Marokane Road behind the offices of EMPD precinct in Thembisa.
Mashishi said the abandoned car was reported hijacked in Ivory Park in the early hours of that morning."EMPD Officers were inside our precinct situated at Lekaneng section in Thembisa when they noticed two suspicious men through the windows," said Mashishi."
The two dumped a maroon Nissan hatchback, which came in high speed, and ran into the nearest informal settlement.
"Mashishi said this made the Metro cops to go investigate further. "The suspicious Nissan was carefully approached and tested. It was reported robbed from the liable owner, that morning in the Ivory Park area," said Mashishi.
