Burger King coming to Durban

Burger King coming to Durban

2014-04-04 10:06

Durban - Burger King SA will open its first store in Durban on Monday April 14 2014.

Currently Burger King SA has seven stores in Cape Town and four in Johannesburg.

Burger King is the world’s second largest hamburger chain and came to SA in May last year.

“We’re opening our first store in Durban at the Pavilion Shopping Centre, which forms part of our expansion plans for 2014. After a successful launch in Gauteng, our rollout plans are on track,” said Jaye Sinclair, CEO of Burger King SA.

please come to namibia as well .....

      Honeya Badger - 2014-04-04 11:52

Actually no, how difficult is it to make a burger. This is the sort of business Namibians and elsewhere should be encouraged to roll out on their own.

      John Retief - 2014-04-04 12:07

get the burgers when the store just opens, then they are amazing! However, looking at Tygervalley store, in a few months the patties will be wafer thin, and the amount of fries much less! Burger king is similar to McDonalds, just more expensive.

      Vérité Un - 2014-04-04 13:12

Johan, at just under R40 for there "top of the range" Burger, no other Burger joint can compete with Burger King.

  • Freddie Miller - 2014-04-04 10:20

I have eaten Burger King burgers in Holland, Thailand and Portugal, but never been to one in SA. There were always massive queues in the first months and I lost interest after that.

  • Dorino Kalamaras - 2014-04-04 10:22

But still no bacon burger ???

      Laubser Brink - 2014-04-04 11:01

McDonalds RSA doesn't have bacon either. I don't see anyone moaning about that.. I guess South Africans don't realize that McD's in USA has bacon

      Themba Maseko - 2014-04-04 11:57

      Pork meat has demons!

      Laubser Brink - 2014-04-04 13:45

      Demons of flavour yes

      Richard Young - 2014-04-04 15:27

      Put your own bacon on

  • SunshinyDay - 2014-04-04 10:30

I haven't even tried the ones up in JHB. Any good?

      Cameron Roy Hart - 2014-04-04 11:03

      Basically like McDs just drier.

      Vérité Un - 2014-04-04 13:17

Went to the newly opened one next to the N14, really good Burger.

  • Antonio Pisapia - 2014-04-04 10:46

      Jahrid Jazzee Lochen - 2014-04-04 10:56

I think it's called BURGER king for a reason!

      Cameron Roy Hart - 2014-04-04 11:04

@Antonio, i saw the humor in that lol.

  • Werner Friesenbichler - 2014-04-04 11:07

    what about george

  • Kurt Kutz - 2014-04-04 11:23

Thank you ANC for destroying our country with Burger King!

      Donovan Dunn - 2014-04-04 12:37

      W. T. F ??

  • Boikanyo Alefeng - 2014-04-04 12:10

Please spare us this American Brand in Botswana. Local business is our model.

      Laubser Brink - 2014-04-04 13:50

So you don't support the South African brands that are in bots? i.e. Spur, Cappuccino's, Ocean Basket, Rhapsody's?????

      Boikanyo Alefeng - 2014-04-04 14:09

We would rather support a south African brand than American sir

      Laubser Brink - 2014-04-05 08:35

      I hear you

  • Stephen Ambartzakis - 2014-04-04 12:27

No bacon burgers!!! They can stuff their product where the sun don't shine.

      Donovan Dunn - 2014-04-04 12:37

im sure they will survive without you Stephan.

      Laubser Brink - 2014-04-04 13:46

Do you EVER eat McDonalds Steven?

  • Donovan Dunn - 2014-04-04 12:40

At first I was also angry at the bacon thing, but now I think about it, it's not the end of the world. Bearing in mind the cost of the burgers, putting 2 strips of bacon into it would add at least R7-R10 onto the price anyway so they lose either way, Put bacon and get accused of ripping us off, leave it out and get accused of being fake and religiously biased.

      Freddie Miller - 2014-04-04 13:00

Donovan, they have not given us the choice, that is what is most annoying.

      Donovan Dunn - 2014-04-04 13:44

but that's their perogative. Mcdonalds USA currently has 7 bacon offerings but nobody complains in SA (Mcd SA is halaal as well). Again, the tens of thousands that want to buy it will, the few dozen that complain about bacon, shouldn't.

      Laubser Brink - 2014-04-04 13:48

South African McDonalds doesn't have bacon either but I bet most of you guys eat McD's....

      Laubser Brink - 2014-04-04 13:52

Don't get me wrong, I also want my bacon. When I moved back from the states I was horrified to find out McD's here doesn't have bacon at all

      Johan Grundling - 2014-04-23 15:20

@Freddie They have given you a choice... Buy it if you like... Or dont! I dont see what is soo hard in that!

  • Richard Young - 2014-04-04 15:55

    Burger King is awesome

  • Dominique Deligiannidis - 2014-04-04 16:20

Super burger, better than McDonalds. Big meaty patty, super bun and garnishes. The chicken wings are also very tasty. Will definitely be supporting this brand moving forward. McDonalds burgers (especially the patty is awful)

  • Mawande Nombekela - 2014-04-05 14:01

Mxm, sick of these American companies invading our continent, first they invaded our natural resources now our fast food chains and our government of course is happily much obliged. This government has the least back-bone of all African countries.

      Kevin Marsh - 2014-04-08 06:42

That means no more KFC for you . You will have to find a new way to get high cholesterol.

  • Dina Venter - 2014-04-12 20:07
