The programme will focus on:
* Improving representation of women professionals and women-owned enterprises (WOEs ) in the rail sector;
* Facilitate technical skills development of women professionals and WOEs;
* Facilitate comprehensive enterprise development and support for women professionals and WOEs.
Transport Minister Dipuo Peters, her deputy Sindisiwe Chikunga and Prasa Group Executive for Business Development Pearl Munthali will share in detail how Prasa is committed to sustainable women economic emancipation through various initiatives emanating from the company’s key investments.
The economic inclusion of women is carried out under the banner of the Women in Rail Programme.
The Group CEO of Prasa, Lucky Montana, will also be in attendance.
Prasa recognises that the rail environment is male dominated and has, in response, established the Women in Rail initiative in 2008.
