Johannesburg - Instant messaging service WhatsApp is reportedly testing a range of new features, including a function to revoke messages sent to other users.
According to reports, the messaging app is testing a feature to delete messages mistakenly sent to users in its beta version – a win for drunken texters and those regrettable messages.
It is still unclear as to how long users will be able to revoke texts after they have been sent, or when the functionality will be rolled out.

Prior to testing this new feature, a user could press and hold on a specific message to delete it. However, this function only removes the message from the device of the user who deleted it and not from the device of the user on the other end.
WhatsApp is also believed to be testing a feature that works similar to Snapchat and Instagram's 'stories' offering.
Moreover, WhatsApp is also testing a real-time location sharing feature, where users will be able to show friends where they are and choose the period of time that the location feature is enabled for - useful for when meeting friends and updating them on how far away from them a user is.
