Johannesburg - Software giant Microsoft has launched its official online store in South Africa as the festive season gathers pace.
The online store, www.microsoftstore.co.za, lets customers buy products ranging from the Lumia smartphone range, Xbox consoles and software such as Office 2016.
“The explosion of social and mobile technology has ignited ‘the era of the smart shopper’ where consumer purchase decisions are determined through online product and service content and reviews,” said Zoaib Hoosen, the managing director of Microsoft South Africa in a statement.
“We are also finding that more and more local consumers look to benefit from the convenience afforded to them from secure online shopping and free delivery, which they can find in the Microsoft online store” said Hoosen.
Microsoft’s launch of its online store has also come amid the launching its Lumia 950 and 950 XL smartphones into the South African market which are respectively priced at R10 548.00 and R11 499 each.
