Johannesburg - Hacktivist organisation Anonymous has declared war on Donald Trump, just two days before his inauguration as US President.

Trump became the latest target of the international decentralisation group, which is known to have previously targeted countries and large corporations, including ISIS, the US government and child pornography websites.

In a series of tweets, the organisation declared war on Trump with one tweet reading: “You have financial and personal ties with Russian mobsters, child traffickers, and money launderers.”

A follow-up tweet read: “This isn't the 80's any longer, information doesn't vanish, it is all out there. You are going to regret the next 4 years.”

The first tweet from Anonymous was in response to a tweet from Trump which read: “Much worse - just look at Syria (red line), Crimea, Ukraine and the build-up of Russian nukes. Not good! Was this the leaker [sic] of Fake News?”

Rumors previously stated that Anonymous had declared war on Trump in 2016. However, the group later denounced the rumors.

The group was also reported to have targeted US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton during her campaign.
