Johannesburg - Telecommunications company Telkom has cut its fixed line data bundle costs, the latest in a series of price reductions from the company.
On Wednesday, Telkom said it has adjusted pricing for a range of its data products that include fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and its Do Bundles on its digital subscriber line packages.
Various bundle prices have been cut by more than 15%, according to Telkom.
“The new Do Bundle prices start at R399 a month (reduced from R408 previously) for the Do Basic Bundle, which includes up to 2Mbps and 10GB soft cap, and goes up to R999 a month (reduced from R1 028) for the Do Elite Plus Bundle, which includes up to 40Mbps and a 100GB soft cap,” said Telkom.
“The only exception is the price for the Do Elite product, which will increase slightly by about 1% to R799 per month. Telkom customers who are currently subscribed to Do Bundles will also benefit from the price reductions,” added the company.
In terms of fibre pricing cuts, Telkom said that prices have been reduced by 11%.That is, fibre products that range from R699 a month for the 10Mbps and 50GB data bundle up to R1 599 for the 100Mbps and 200GB bundle will see the price decreases.
These price cuts from Telkom come after the company in recent weeks also slashed pricing for its pre-paid mobile data, LTE and LTE A offerings, and for home offices and for certain mobile voice bundles.
In April this year, the wholesale business of Telkom also announced price reductions of between 10% and 63% for its product range.
