MWEB explained on Monday that its customers and users would experience problems with sending and receiving email.
“The problem has been isolated to one of our upstream providers and they have indicated that they expect to have it resolved within the next hour,” a spokesperson for MWEB told Fin24 at 3:50 on Monday.
“We are giving this our highest priority and focus. We know this is causing problems for our customers, and we apologise for this,” said the company.
MWEB further said that its call centres are experiencing high volumes as a result and that they may not be able to “answer all calls or reply to all emails”.
The company first mentioned the email glitch at 09:21 on Monday in a Facebook post.
