Busan - Seoul, one of the world's most technologically advanced cities, is home to some of the world's most recognised consumer electronic goods brands.

And the competition between brands is tangible, with LG's biggest store juxtaposed to almost stare its biggest competitor in the eye. Situated diagonally opposite LG's biggest store in the world, the Best Shop, is Samsung's equally big branded store.

The Best Shop is the stockist for the company's latest products ranging from mobiles to home appliances, and it features exclusively branded items.

LG on Tuesday announced that its new line-up of home appliances, fitted with its new smart inverter technology, would be heading to South Africa.

The new technology aims to make devices in the home more energy efficient by adjusting power consumption to the exact amount required by the user. Below are some of the appliances earmarked for the South African market:

The LG TwinWash features a mini washer alongside a traditional washer to wash different kinds of loads simultaneously.

As part of LG's push into the premium home appliance segment, the new Signature range of appliances was unveiled recently, including a 4K OLED TV.

While the jury is still out on whether it will come to SA, the LG Styler resembles a refrigerator and clothing cupboard and is used to clean clothes waterlessly.

The store stocks the latest LG products, with a few in-store exclusives.

Also available at the store is the LG Robot Vacuum, which is able to roll around and clean floor surfaces by itself.

A wide range of LG washing machines are available at the store.
