Cape Town - Lenovo is hoping to entice South Africans with the update to its Yoga tablet with the new model that boasts an improved battery life.
The Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ has been launched in SA and the company claims that the latest device has an outstanding battery life.
"Customers from all age groups have told us they love the Yoga Tablet design with the different modes, as well as the incredible 18 hours battery life with a single charge," said Graham Braum, Lenovo's Africa general manager.
While CNET had praise for the Sony Xperia Z2 it listed the Yoga 8 tablet in fourth place though the smaller device has a longer battery life at 14 hours on test.
Several online reviewers remarked on the Lenovo's battery life and the company has been quick to highlight its virtues in the latest offering.
Brand expansion
The shape (or form factor) is similar to the previous Lenovo models that enable the device to be used in a number of modes.
The Lenovo brand is one of the fastest growing in terms of market share. The company has moved swiftly to expand after its acquisition of Motorola from Google.

The IDC announced that in the Middle East and Africa, tablet growth topped 77% in 2014, but while Samsung was the top vendor, followed by Apple, Lenovo was fourth, shipping 266 049 units in the first three months of the year.
It is expected that mobile technology will dominate in Africa as a generation of people who will skip PCs access the internet primarily on smartphones, phablets and tablets.
"The MEA tablet market continues to expand tremendously...a trend that can primarily be attributed to the additional focus that vendors have placed on this region due to numerous country markets not reaching their full potential, particularly in Africa," said Adriana Rangel, a research director at IDC.
The Lenovo Yoga 10 HD+ is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core processor is has a recommended retail price of just R4 599.
