Johannesburg - Fitbit unveiled two new fitness-tracking wearables to the South African market at an event in Johannesburg last week.
The Fitbit Charge 2 is now available at local retailers while the Fitbit Flex 2, fitness band will be available soon.
The Fitbit Charge 2 features a display that is four-times larger than the previous model and also features a heart-rate monitor.
The Fitbit Flex 2 is a slim fitness band, thinner than the previous model.
For the first time, Fitbit have enabled the Flex 2 to be waterproof and allows the user to track their swimming.
The devices track the user’s steps per day, sleep pattern, supports push notifications from a smartphone and features auto exercise recognition.
The devices, like others from Fitbit, give the wearer reminders to move around, with the Charge 2 able to show the user time, messages and steps at a glance.
The Fitbit Charge 2 will cost R2 900 with the Flex 2 priced at R1 800.
New wrist bands will be available for the fitness trackers for December.
