Johannesburg - Samsung’s S7 flagship smartphone range is now officially available in South Africa as MTN and Vodacom have revealed their contract pricing options for the devices.
Samsung launched its S7 range last month at Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) event to packed audiences.

The standard S7 Galaxy handset sports a 5.1 inch screen while the larger Edge S7 device has a 5.5 inch screen. Other features of the phones include an Exynos quad-core chipset, a 3 000 mAh battery and an expandable memory up to 200GB.
Both MTN and Vodacom on Friday revealed the contract prices for these devices.
Vodacom, in a statement, said it’s offering the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge each respectively for R599 and R699 per month on 24 month ‘Smart Plan’ packages.
As part of this deal, Vodacom says it’s offering customers an additional 6GB data deal, a D-Link speaker or a wireless charger and free access to music streaming service Deezer free for “six months on any plan and only free for 12 months to customers on the Red plans”.
MTN, meanwhile, has also revealed more information about its S7 plans and promotions.

The company says that, for a limited period, both the S7 and Edge devices will include a free Samsung Gear VR (Virtual Reality) headset from R449 a month on a 36 months ‘MY MTNChoice 100 contract.
Both the 36 and 24 month contracts from MTN on both devices further include a once off data bundle of 30GB.
These devices are available on 36 month and 24 month contracts from MTN.
MTN further says that the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge is available on My MTNChoice, MTN AnyTime TopUp and on My MTNChoice Flexi packages.
MTN further says that customers can also get the devices on cash deal prices of R13 799 for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and R15 399 for Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
