Johannesburg - Apple recently announced a new tier of its iCloud storage ahead of the next iPhone launch on September 7 but its pricing is not the cheapest for South Africans.
The company earlier this week revealed that a 2 terabyte option had been added to its already existing 50 gigabyte, 200 gigabyte and one terabyte packages.

The new iCloud storage tier comes in at R299.99 per month for South Africans.
iPhone theorists speculate the addition of a new tier to iCloud hints that Apple may reveal a 256 gigabyte version of its next device, come the launch event next week.
But recently, numerous cloud storage options have become available from a variety of service providers.
Dropbox offers users 2 gigabytes for free, while OneDrive from Microsoft and Apple’s iCloud offer users 5 free gigabytes. The most generous offering, though, comes from Google Drive at 15 gigabytes – which includes attachments from emails to Gmail.
Google Drive also extends storage options beyond one terabyte, with 10 terabytes for R1 599.00 per month; 20 terabytes for R3 199.00 and 30 terabytes for R4 799.00 per month.
