Johannesburg – Growing up in a creative home, Jacelyn Gozadinos designed and made her first outfit when she was just six years old. Now the 31-year-old designer runs her own business, specialising in wedding garments, while making use of sustainable business practices.
Gozadinos’ bridal store, White Lilly Bridal, is situated in Parkhurst, in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. The store is minimalist, with an earthy feel to it. In the foyer there is a display cabinet with A5 sketches on each shelf.
Step further into the store, into a meeting room, and you are met with the sight of wedding gowns hanging along the walls. The sun’s rays coming through fill the room with natural light. The smell of wood is throughout the store, and there is indie music playing in the background. This is clearly not a regular bridal store, a bride who walks in is not simply buying a dress. She is building a relationship with Gozadinos.
