Co-Founder of I-Drop Water, and 2017 Chivas Venture South African winner and Global finalist, James Steere, has won Innovator of the Year for South Africa, at the 2017 All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA), which recognizes remarkable leadership and salutes the visionaries of business in Africa.
Steere won for his innovative business idea called, I-Drop Water, which aims to change the way water is consumed and sold in Africa through vending units that purify and dispense water in-store.
Honoured by the recognition, Steere said, “I and the I-Drop Water team are overwhelmed to have won this award. Growing a business with a social purpose is particularly tough and to be recognized for the hard work we’ve invested in our innovative business model is very meaningful.”
“I couldn’t be prouder of our team, retail partners around Africa and everyone who has backed us on our journey so far.” he added.
“We are incredibly proud of James Steere and how he has represented the country on a global business scale. The development and implementation of I-Drop Water is testament that a true entrepreneurial spirit has the potential to make South Africa a better place,” says Shelley Reeves, Chivas Regal Marketing Manager.
“In addition, we remain committed to empowering entrepreneurs who use their businesses as a force for good,” she adds.
