Property law

Inspections were done on the house I sold in January 15. I indicated to both the transferring attorney as well as inspection company that the amount was to be deducted from the proceeds of sale.

The attorney paid the company for the cost of the repairs but not for the inspections themselves. The inspection company tried to recover the funds from the conveyancing attorney but they declined stating they paid on invoice received for the repairs. To their credit the inspection company sent a separate invoice with the inspection cost prior to the attorney receiving the repair invoice. Now the inspection company want to recover the funds from me - R1800, can I be held legally liable? Regards
