Join the medical aid revolution

Fedhealth is flipping the medical aid industry on its head, for good, by bringing you choice, flexibility and control like never before!

1. MediVault and Wallet

The most epic change Fedhealth is making is to the way you pay for day-to-day benefits. Usually, medical aids charge you for day-to-day savings upfront, which can make up as much as 25% of your monthly rate. No more.

Fedhealth is now the only medical aid that offers you a massively reduced monthly base rate by introducing the Fedhealth MediVault and Wallet.

Based on your unique profile and the core benefit bundle you select, a pre-approved amount is placed in your individual MediVault at the beginning of the year. This amount is not pro-rated, and works the same as a traditional Savings Account, but is different in one very important way: you don’t pay for it until you use it!

Once you need it to pay for day-to-day expenses, you simply transfer the required funds from your MediVault to your Wallet – in increments of R600 – and only then start paying it back, interest-free, over 12 months!

2. Core benefit bundles

But that’s not where the revolution ends. Based on your life stage, Fedhealth now offers just four core benefit bundles – our flexiFED range – from which to choose, which you can personalise further to suit your needs down to a T:

  • flexiFED 1, perfect for healthy, young single people looking for affordable, quality cover
  • flexiFED 2, more suited to young families starting out
  • flexiFED 3, tailored to young families making their way up in the world
  • flexiFED 4, for more mature families looking for all-inclusive cover

All core benefit bundles come pre-packed with value-added benefits covered from Risk, not from the MediVault and Wallet. These include:

  • In-hospital cover
  • Chronic medication
  • Screenings
  • Day-to-day expenses like specialised radiology, trauma treatment at a casualty ward and cover for female contraceptives. flexiFED 4 also includes unlimited network GP visits.

3. Benefit Maximiser

Fedhealth also provides a Benefit Maximiser to boost the above benefits. On flexiFED 1, 2 and 3 we will cover unlimited network GP visits and preventative or basic dentistry benefits once your day-today expenses have accumulated to your Benefit Maximiser Threshold Level.

On flexiFED 4, claims can be submitted to accumulate to a pre-determined threshold level, whereafter they will be paid from the Threshold Benefit with a 20% co-payment on all claims.

4. Choose to control your rates

After selecting your core benefit bundle, you can personalise and create your aid, at a price tag you control:

  • Take off 11% by selecting the Network Hospital Option (GRID):

Only use Fedhealth’s 100 world-class network hospitals for 11% off your base monthly contribution. In case of an emergency, you’ll still be taken to your closest hospital even if it’s not a Fedhealth network hospital.

                OR

  • Save 25% by limiting yourself to a smaller hospital network (Elect): Perfect if you don’t foresee any planned hospital procedures in the year ahead. Once again, you’ll be taken to the closest hospital and won’t be penalised in an emergency.
