#Steinhoff scandal: Your views

Cape Town - On Tuesday evening news broke that Steinhoff International's CEO Markus Jooste had abruptly resigned, and the firm had launched an internal probe into unspecified "accounting irregularities".

The Amsterdam-registered global retailer subsequently lost over 80% of its market capitalisation, wiping over R100bn off the JSE.

George Ash said he hopes pension funds will be spared

Basheer Paleker said both Steinhoff's auditors and its former CEO Markus Jooste should face jail time for misleading investors.
