Battling with e-tolls mistakes

A Fin24 user is battling with various e-tolls problems and mistakes. He writes:

I have received an account for using the e-toll facilities on the R21 highway.

I have no problem paying the account, but I have a problem with the following:

- The account was issued on December 22 2013;

- To qualify for the discounted payable amount of R128.16, I would have had to pay on or before January 21 2014;

- I only received the account on January 23 2014;

The difference between the date of the invoice and date upon which I received it, is 32 days.

Come on! This is completely unacceptable, there is a problem here.

Unfortunately the envelopes that the SA National Road Agency (Sanral) uses do not show a valid date stamp to prove when it was posted.

I called the call centre various times, including on January 24 2014 and I was transferred from one operator to the next.

The last operator told me that I have to go to a Sanral office to complain and do an enquiry there.

She said she could not help me due to the system being down.

Well then I lost my cool.

I am willing to  pay the said account for the discounted amount. The public cannot be held responsible for not receiving the account in time. That it a Sanral problem.

And there is  still no end to all the problems.

- I bought an e-tag and I called the call center to register my e-tag;

- I gave the operator all the details asked for;

- On January 17 2014 I received a discrepancy notification;

- I could not understand the discrepancy so I called the call centre only to discover that my car registration number had been wrongly entered;

- The call centre agent said he fixed it to the correct registration number, but I do not know if the wrong transactions were fixed and transferred to the correct registration number.

I would also like to check why am I being charged R20.01 every time that I go through the following  gantries: R21: T 44 Weaver and R21: T 43 Swan.

This is not according to the prices that are listed on the boards on that highway.

According to Sanral's website, I should be getting charged R6.67 a day, yet I am being charged R40 a day to get to work and home.

This is almost ten times higher than the advertised price.

Please can you investigate these charges and the above facts.

Fin24 has approached Sanral on more than one occasion to enquire about this user's matter, but no reply has been received after two weeks.
