Coke ad: Your views on #SAisBeautiful

Cape Town - Twitter has been abuzz over a Coca-Cola advertisement featuring a patriotic song about America.

The one-minute ad entitled “America is Beautiful” stirred up controversy because the song is sung in several different languages by people from various ethnicities.

South Africans have also taken to Twitter, supporting a multilingual Coke commercial.

They say a similar ad that would use SA's 11 official languages will highlight the country as a rainbow nation.

I think a coke ad with all SA's official languages would be totally awesome!! Better yet cuz we wouldn't moan abt it. #SAIsBeautiful indeed

Laura Herbst wrote in saying that it would be a brilliant idea to use all official languages in the next coke ad.
 
"It’s time SA focused more on bringing everyone together".

Justine du Toit agreed, adding that South Africa is a rainbow nation after all.

Said Selma Matshego: "I think it will be so special to hear our rainbow nation in song."

Brian shared this view saying he can't wait to hear all the San clicks.
 
Users Wayne Bell and Mbuso Mkhombe say such an ad will sparkle with Madiba magic.

Mkhombe added that 50 years from now, South Africa will be like the US with almost all nations in the world calling it home.

Bell said: "This country represent all cultures and languages that builds this beautiful country ... in memory of Madiba true spirit"

Coke ads have always been unique, even the way in which they are presented, wrote Pletupu.

"I love coke and if it gets to a point where they have to make an ad with multiple languages in South Africa I know best it will be the best. Go coke go."

Wayne Magee says he hopes to see such an ad soon.

"I would love to see a coke ad like that for South Africa to show all our cultures; and how diverse our country really is."
