Cape Town - Steven Nathan, founder of 10X Investments, recently made a presentation on how to navigate the investment minefield.
"It truly is a minefield where so many investors are getting blown up along the way. There are too many casualties along the way," said Nathan.
He said it is important to take note of the concept shrinkflation. It is also important to note where most people tend to seek guidance.
"How does one avoid the minefield? There is one solution you can always trust," said Nathan.
He pointed out that a 200g chocolate slab has over the last 5 years gone to 150g, while the price has increased by 50%.
"The question is how happy are you when you buy your chocolate - you are paying 50% more for 25% less," said Nathan.
"It is much harder to see if this is happening to your long term savings. Sadly, most people ignore this. Most people are getting information from the internet and YouTube it seems."
