US stocks jumped early on Monday after the United States and Canada reached a deal to revise the North American trade agreement, while shares of Tesla and General Electric both rocketed higher on corporate leadership news.
About two minutes into trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was at 26 648.83, up 0.7%.
The broad-based S&P 500 and tech-rich Nasdaq both gained 0.5% to reach 2 929.58 and 8 085.83 respectively.
Tesla surged 14.6% after Chief Executive Elon Musk settled with US securities regulators, letting him remain chief executive. GE jumped 14.1% after announcing a new chief executive.
