Tokyo stocks closed higher on Wednesday helped by a cheaper yen, as market focus shifted from the US-North Korea summit to US and European central bank meetings this week.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.38% to close at 22 966.38, while the broader Topix index was up 0.42% at 1 800.37.
