Tokyo - Tokyo stocks closed higher on Thursday as investors took heart from a slightly cheaper yen and a rebound in US shares, but trade was cautious ahead of holidays in Japan and the US.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index advanced 0.65%, or 139.01 points, to close at 21 646.55, while the broader Topix index ended up 0.81%, or 13.07 points, at 1 628.96.
