Tokyo shares end higher on hopes for US-China trade ties

Tokyo stocks ended higher on Thursday as worries over a US-China trade war receded.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 0.99% at 21 816.19, while the broader Topix index rose 0.62% at 1 616.65.
