Hong Kong stocks fell more than 1% on Monday after reports said Donald Trump is planning to impose tariffs on another $200bn of Chinese imports.
The Hang Seng Index retreated 1.30% to 26 932.85.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 1.11% to 2 651.79 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, dived 1.54% to 1 380.98.
