Hong Kong - Hong Kong stocks retreated in the morning session on Tuesday following the previous day's healthy run-up, while investors traced losses on US and European markets.
The Hang Seng Index fell 37.65 points, to 23 310.59.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 9.78 points, to 3 147.20 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, eased 4.19 points, to 1 923.38.
