European stock markets weakened in opening trade on Tuesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down 0.1% at 7 437.24 points.
In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 index shed 0.2% to 5 570.43 points and Frankfurt's DAX 30 declined 0.1% to stand at 12 313.97, compared with Monday's closing levels.
