European stock markets steady at open

European stock markets steadied at the start of trading on Wednesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of major blue-chip companies down 0.2% at 7 692.11 points.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 added 0.1% to 12 857.16 points and the Paris CAC 40 grew 0.1% to 5 457.31, compared with the closing levels on Tuesday.
