European stock markets rise at open

London - European stock markets advanced at the start of trading on Thursday.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index climbed nearly 0.6% to 7 043.17 points compared with the close on Wednesday.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index added 0.7% to 11 377.21 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.9% to 5 026.66.
