London - European stock markets recovered slightly at the start of trading on Monday following a worldwide slump for equities ahead of the weekend break.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index rose 0.2% to 6 934.60 points compared with the close on Friday.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index climbed 0.3% to 11 919.64 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.2% to 5 106.34.
