European stock markets recovered at the start of trading on Tuesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index climbing 0.5% to 7 588.01 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 gained 0.7% to 12 321.07 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.5% to 5 302.36 compared with Monday's closing levels.
Europe's main indices had kicked off the week with losses of between 0.6% and 1.2%, dragged down by trade war concerns and a political crisis in Germany.
