Europe's main stock markets slid at the start of trading on Thursday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index losing 0.5% to 7 526.05 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index fell 0.4% to 12 516.55 points and the CAC 40 in Paris dipped 0.1% to 5 494.02, compared with the closing levels on Wednesday.
