European stock markets diverge at open

Europe's leading stock markets opened the week mixed on Monday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index rising 0.3% to 7 456.59 points.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index dropped 0.2% to 12 338.36 points and the CAC 40 in Paris dipped 0.1% to 5 400.70, compared with the closing levels on Friday.
