Europe's main stock markets rose at the start of trading on Wednesday following a surge in Asia on hopes of a breakthrough in the US-China trade war.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index advanced 0.3% to 7 155.94 points compared with the close on Tuesday.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index gained 0.4% to 11 174.85 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.3% to 5 071.54.
