Cape Town - In the last episode of #EntrepreneurCorner for the year, Fin24's resident coach Anton Ressel talks about a simple exercise which includes a three-step plan to help entrepreneurs prepare for the New Year.
This tool requires entrepreneurs to list three things which they need to stop doing, three things they need to start doing and three to continue doing because they’re good for business.
Ressel said the list of things in the "stop doing" list could include underquoting, underpromising or taking on work you won't be able to deliver on time.
However, Ressel also warned that entrepreneurs should be careful not to overlook what they are already doing well, and said they should ensure these go to the "continue doing" list.
"I think as entrepreneurs we often find that we have a lot of things that we feel we need to stop doing. In my experience with this exercise, most people end up with a long list of stops, a small list of starts and kind of a medium list of continues," said Ressel.
He suggests that entrepreneurs should try to crystallise the list into four or five major actions elements they can start working on immediately as 2018 starts.
Ressel advised entrepreneurs to be realistic when they look at their lists in order to work out a concrete plan that will help them achieve their goals.
