What do I do with my kitchen invention?

Aug 03 2014 17:03
A Fin24 user asks advice about a machine he has developed. He writes:

I have built a domestic biogas digester which will convert kitchen waste to gas. I’m looking for an investor or a loan to set up a manufacturing company, which can create a minimum of 500 permanent jobs across the country.

Entrepreneur and director of Fetola, Catherine Wijnberg responds:

This sounds very exciting!

You will, however, need more than just a prototype to woo private investors, so I suggest you look for professional support to get you to that stage and to help you with funding applications.

For starters they can help you develop a solid business plan, detailing what you have created, including sections on how you will protect your intellectual property, plus a well researched market appraisal and some realistic income projections.

You can apply for one of the many dti incentive funds, or to the numerous enterprise development programmes such as the Edge Growth manages.
