Wear You seminars aim to empower women

Cape Town - The Sta-Sof-Fro Wear You Salon Seminar is a movement that celebrates the "#versastyle woman", according to Lerato Selepe, Sta-Sof-Fro brand manager.

"Wear You is a meeting of the minds of women from all walks of life, with one thing in common - they are real women living in the real world," Selepe told Fin24.

"The panel consists of 'versastyle' women who are 'slaying' their current roles and from them, knowledge is shared with our Sta-Sof-Fro consumers."

The aim of the movement is to educate and empower women. As a brand, it wants to give its consumers the necessary life skills to equip them to make the right decisions in their lives.

"We strongly believe that an empowered woman does not only change her life, but the lives of those around her as well," said Selepe.

The idea behind the initiative was first brainstormed in 2016.

"We had to spend two years fully immersing ourselves in the lives of our consumers to find out exactly what our consumers' needs are and had to ask ourselves how, as a brand, are we assisting the consumer to reach their life goals," she explained.

"Wear You is a consumer inspired campaign that was started by women for women."

Wear You is a three-part seminar experience covering topics such as finance, the profitability of following your passion and getting the balance right.

Each member of the panel plays a pivotal role in imparting knowledge through their own journeys and the lessons that they have learnt along their unique journeys.

The guests also have an opportunity to ask questions, followed by a meet and greet session.

"I like to describe it as seeing the women of the panel like never before, because they give access to information one couldn’t simply find on a Google search," added Selepe.

Currently the seminars are deliberately intimate and only a few consumers can attend. Tickets are not for sale and can be won by keeping up with the ambassadors who are running the giveaways on their social media alongside some other media partners.

"We have been overwhelmed with such a positive response thus far and we are confident about making this seminar bigger and better. Wear You is just getting started," said Selepe.
