Cape Town - A place where South African and Dutch entrepreneurs can connect, work together and expand their businesses.
This is the mission of Orange Corners, a network of collaborative workspace in multiple venues, starting on September 15 2016 in Maboneng, Braamfontein and Diepsloot.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands launches Orange Corners in partnership with organisations including Shell, Heineken, Vopak, Royal HaskoningDHV and TomTom, OPEN Collaborative Workspaces, Rhiza, TU Delft (Delft University of Technology), Mazars-Berenschot, University of the Witwatersrand, SEED Academy, SiModisa, KPMG and EP-Nuffic.
“Our mission is to establish an innovative support system for entrepreneurs and to truly partner with them in their business journeys. A key element of the initiative is to link companies, individuals and knowledge institutes from South Africa and the Netherlands with each other, thereby not only combining our separate expertise for joint solutions but also strengthening the relationship between South Africa and the Netherlands,” said Dutch Ambassador Marisa Gerards.
Orange Corners is a platform for entrepreneurs to learn, grow their businesses, expand their professional networks and stimulate their creativity. This is achieved by providing training, business mentorship and fostering strategic connections between South African and Dutch businesses.
The aim is to contribute to South Africa’s economic growth by creating an environment for local entrepreneurship to thrive. In doing so, the initiative also provides a place to access a network of like-minded individuals for Dutch entrepreneurs.
In the first year approximately 45 entrepreneurs will be selected to participate in the Orange Corners programme. These entrepreneurs will have access to collaborative workplaces at a reduced cost and receive intensive training and business mentorship.
Orange Corners will have dedicated business development support to assist entrepreneurs with day-to-day challenges. It will also link entrepreneurs with mentors from key partners such as Shell, Heineken, Vopak and Royal HaskoningDHV mention a few.
In essence, Orange Corners allows for universities, companies and other organisations to connect via a range of courses, seminars, coaching sessions, internships, temporary jobs and distant learning programs. By bringing them under one roof, we are creating an environment where entrepreneurs are constantly challenged and motivated to succeed.
