DESPITE having received first prize in the National Science Olympiad in his final year at school, Bertie du Plessis went on to study literature and theology at the Universities of Stellenbosch and Tübingen (Germany).
He founded his MindPilot (Pty) Ltd® consultancy in 1995 and counts various JSE listed companies such as African Bank and global players BHP Billiton Southern Africa, Naspers, Roche Diagnostics, Sasol and Standard Bank as well as numerous SMEs among his clients.
His business focus is strategic positioning.
He has lectured in six different disciplines at various universities and tertiary institutions in South Africa, among them at the Gordon Institute of Business Science.
In 2011 he attended a Harvard Business School strategy programme. He is an authority on the work of Nobel Prize winning psychologist, Daniel Kahneman.
