There is no load shedding planned for the weekend, according to Eskom's power update.
In a power update on Friday evening, the utility said ''the system is constrained, however, the risk remains low for the weekend.'' This is because there is enough capacity to meet electricity demand which tends to be lower over the weekend.
Breakdowns were at 14 106 MW as at 16:30 on Friday.
"We are monitoring the system closely and we will continue to give periodic updates on the status of the power system as things may change at short notice," it said.
