Energy Minister Jeff Radebe, who was rushed to hospital earlier on Wednesday, is recovering at home.
His spokesperson Mmabatho Ramompi told News24 that he was at home, recovering, and that there was "no emergency" and "nothing to worry about".
No further details were given on what had happened or what his condition had been.
The minister had been scheduled to answer questions in Parliament on Wednesday.
Speaker of Parliament Baleka Mbete said: "He has had to be rushed to hospital on an emergency due to ill health."
The minister had been given eight questions related to independent power producers and renewable energy.
