Parliament's oversight committee on communications will on Thursday morning shortlist 24 candidates to be interviewed to fill the eight vacancies at the board of the South African Broadcasting Corporation.
"The names of shortlisted candidates will be published on Parliament’s website for public comments and interviews will be conducted from 5 to 7 March 2019," the committee said in a statement.
This appears to be a reversal from what the committee decided on earlier in the week, when the process of shortlisting candidates was put on ice.
The committee also said that, due to a tight deadline, it would also will no longer conduct exit interviews with those who resigned from the current board.
On Tuesday the committee had resolved to conduct exit interviews "given the history of challenges at the SABC board."
Thursday's committee hearing will commence at 10:00.
